Kanwal Tariq climbed atop a great, sprawling tree on a hill in Bagh-e-Jinnah,
and wrapped its branches in a long sheet of black plastic. This performance
was extremely visual, intertwining both natural and extremely synthetic
materials through the labour of the artist’s entire body. This culminated in a
large tree covered in thin black plastic, an image of suffocation and conflict
between nature and the man-made world.
