Location: Bagh-e-Jinnah
Duration: 30 Mins

Sabeen Ahsan’s performance was an experiment in public interactions and speech. She sat before an empty chair in front of Quaid-e-Azam public library; a crisp white, imposing building that necessitates silence within it. Her aim was to see whether or how people may choose to engage in a conversation with her in a public space. By interacting with random pedestrians, she saw how many men and women decided to speak to her, and how gendered their responses to her silent presence were.
